Faculty Panel on the Real and Perceived Inaccessibility of Mathematics
This faculty panel kicks off the BUMAA and BUAWM’s Seminar Series aimed at increasing awareness about anti-racism and inclusion in mathematics and statistics. We want to start off by making this abstract topic real to our community. Why do we care about this? Our panelists will share their career experience so far in mathematics, including challenges they have experienced and witnessed. We will address topics such as stereotype threat, imposter syndrome, and implicit bias that pervade the field. Afterwards, there will be a moderated Q&A session. Participants can submit questions when they RSVP or ask them during the panel.
