Redefining a Thriving Orchestra Career
Sonja Thoms will share her 15 year journey from oboist in music school to Vice President of Operations at the Nashville Symphony. A career in Orchestra Operations was not something Sonja knew about until after graduate school. While all her training as a musician has been critical to her success as manager, there have been some key lessons she has learned along the way that students can benefit from now. Sonja’s pursuit of professional growth and life-long learning has been put to the test as the orchestral industry experiences devastating impact from the global COVID-19 pandemic. Come hear about life behind the scenes and bring your questions about all things orchestra careers! This virtual talk will be held via Zoom. To register, please email Ryan Shaw (BM'22) at rmshaw@bu.edu.
