Yousef Bashir: 2020 Yitzhak Rabin Lecture

The Elie Wiesel Center for Jewish Studies at Boston University is honored to host Palestinian-American peace activist Yousef Bashir for the 2020 Yitzhak Rabin Lecture. Mr. Bashir will join us live, online on Thursday, May 14th at 7:30pm EDT!

The lecture, originally scheduled to take place on-campus in late March, was initially postponed. This rescheduled event will take place online using video conference software.

Mr. Bashir’s talk is called, “One Palestinian Family’s Quest for Peace.” Born and raised in Gaza, he and his family experienced the tense years of the Second Intifada when Israeli soldiers took position at their house. When he was 15, Mr. Bashir was shot in the back by an Israeli soldier, but then his life was saved by Israeli medical professionals. Mr. Bashir’s message is that acting with humanity is a choice, and that peace requires forgiveness.

This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required, please use the links below.
