Cinematheque BU Presents: An Evening With Maureen Bharoocha
Maureen Bharoocha is best known for her work as segment director on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, in addition to her short films Abajee and Hairpin Bender that were featured at Santa Barbara Film Festival in 2010 and 2017. Maureen wrote and directed 2 thrillers for Lifetime and short film series for Sprinkles Cupcakes. She has also directed over 50 commercials and comedy segments for Television. Maureen recently directed the arm wrestling comedy, Golden Arm which will world premiere at SXSW March 2020. She is half Irish-Catholic and half Indian/Pakistani-Muslim and because of her background Maureen focuses on unique underdogs and conflicted characters.
Maureen will screen a collection of Kimmel segments, Sprinkles shorts and the film Hairpin Bender. She will also share a sneak peak at the SXSW arm wrestling comedy, Golden Arm.
