AXIS Dance Company Performance

Featured performance as part of the AXIS Dance Company Residency at BU - March 13-18 sponsored by The BU Arts Initiative, Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, The Dance Program, and Disability Services. AXIS Dance Company was founded in 1987 and has paved the way for a powerful contemporary dance form called physically integrated dance, which features dancers with and without disabilities. AXIS’ list of collaborators includes Bill T. Jones, Stephen Petronio, Ann Carlson, David Dorfman, Meredith Monk, and Joan Jeanrenaud. AXIS has toured major dance venues and festivals in more than 100 cities nationwide as well as internationally to Europe and Russia. Their work has been honored with seven Isadora Duncan Dance Awards, and the company was featured twice on FOX TV’s So You Think You Can Dance. This performance will feature choreography by Sonya Delwaide, Ben Juodvaklis, and incoming Artistic Director Marc Brew. This performance is free, but you must RSVP - space is limited.
