Boston’s Jewish Argentinean community convens Stand for Justice this coming SUNDAY co-hosted by the Elie Wiesel Center for Judaic Studies at Boston University. Investigation into the 1994 terrorist attack that destroyed Argentina’s AMIA Jewish center collapsed in January when the special prosecutor in the case died, apparentally of a gun shot to the head. Organized by the Argentinean Jewish Relief Committee of Greater Boston with support from leading Jewish and Argentinean community groups, this public discussion will examine the need for justice in Argentina, and how to get there from here. Featured speaker is The Hague's former International Criminal Court Chief Prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo, senior fellow at Yale University's Jackson Center for Global Affairs. Moreno Ocampo also prosecuted human rights abuses by senior military officials who presided over Argentina's Dirty War in the the 1970's.
