Hosted by the CAS Creative Writing Program Speaker: Rachel Kushner (author of Telex from Cuba and The Framethrower). Please join us for a reading by Rachel Kushner. Kushner's debut novel, Telex from Cuba, was a finalist for the 2008 National Book Award and the Dayton Literary Peace Prize, winner of the California Book Award, and a New York Times bestseller and Notable Book. Kushner's second novel, The Flamethrowers, was a National Book Award Finalist in 2013, making her the only author to have a first and second novel nominated for the National Book Award. Kushner was also awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2013. Her fiction and essays have appeared in The New York Times, The Paris Review, The Believer, and elsewhere. This event is free and open to the public. We suggest arriving early to secure a seat. Limited metered parking is available on Bay State Road, Beacon Street, and Commonwealth Avenue. The BU Granby Street lot on the corner of Granby Street and Commonwealth provides public parking. Via MBTA, take the Green Line ³B² to BU East or any Green Line train to Kenmore.
