Tips for Student Teachers: Adapting to Online and Hybrid Teaching

How do you complete your student teaching hours during a pandemic? Two seniors in the Boston [...]University Wheelock math education program have adapted to the challenges of teaching remotely and in the classroom while continuing to use their fundamental teaching skills to inspire students. "Even in the virtual setting I'm still able to talk to the kids and form a connection with them," says Sarina Simon, who has been working as a student teacher throughout the semester. "I listen to their stories about practices, and different books that they're reading, and I think that that's the biggest thing that I take away from teaching...it's the connections I form with the students."
