Growing up, music played a major role in Daniel Mboweni’s home life. But when he came to BU, [...]Mboweni (ENG’18) kept his music to himself, worried that people wouldn’t understand the traditional African folk songs that he and his family sang together. Joining the Inner Strength Gospel Choir was a turning point, a way to reconnect with his love of singing and a chance “to be free to be myself.”
