From the Center’s long-running Coffee and Conversation dialogue series to daily informal gatherings, the Howard Thurman Center creates space for difficult conversations, deep listening, and genuine connection across differences. Inspired by Howard Thurman’s belief that “community was his single greatest quest in life,” Nicholaus reflects on what it takes to build a healthy community and how he cultivates an environment where everyone feels welcome and heard.
