What a beautiful story and very inspiring. I feel bad that JoAn lost her daughter, but the spirit of her daughter lives on, and I bet she is looking down at her mother from heaven, and feeling very proud of her mother's success.

I am going to college to get my Masters in Social Work, and am 44 years old. I feel out of place sometimes at BU because most of the students are the age of my kids, but am starting to not let it bother me. I am going because I need to fulfill this dream, and knowing that I can do anything, even as a parent. I feel a deep sense of pridel in deciding to go back to school eight years later My kids are proud of me, and I think I serve as an example to them, that they can do anything if they set their mind to it. One of my son attends college and my other son is thinking about taking one online class to try it out, and see if this is for him. Anyway, congratulations, and I hope your story reaches adults like us that want to go back to school but are afraid for many different reasons.

God bless you.
