<description><![CDATA[Painter Matthew Ritchie and Village Voice senior critic Jerry Saltz talk about the concept of the sublime in art. Saltz describes a visit to artist Robert Smithson's installation piece Spiral Jetty, and Ritchie discusses the ways that the colossal upsets of the 20th century revised the art world's relationship to the sublime.
