<description><![CDATA[â€˜Invasive Species and Future Ecologies: Bugs, Viruses, Mussels, and Weeds," part of the â€˜Pardee House Seminarsâ€™ series, featured Professor Les Kaufman of the BU Marine Program and Conservation International as well as Professor Richard Pollack and Professor Richard Primack both of the BU Department of Biology. The seminar was moderated by Pardee Center Director, Professor James McCann.

The event included discussions of the implications of the Nile Perch in Lake Victoria, insects and the diseases they bring with them and the study of the impact of climate change on the flowering times of plants and the spring arrival of birds.

<description><![CDATA[â€œThe Future of South-South Economic Relationsâ€ was an all-day conference led by Director of the Pardee Center Professor Adil Najam and Rachel Denae Thrasher, a fellow at the center, and assembling experts from around the world to discuss emerging economic relations among developing countries. The fourth panel discussed Chinaâ€™s economic relations within Asia and with Latin America, and drivers of Chinese policy. This conference is part of a larger project headed by Najam and Thrasher that will culminate in a 2011 book.
