Margaret Vatter will receive her BA in International Relations with a focus on environmental development and the region of Latin America from Boston University in 2022. She is interested in sustainable economic development and wants to work towards greening the international finance system. As a transfer student, Margaret quickly became involved within the BU community by joining several on-campus organizations such as the International Relations Review and the Bunion. She was also selected by Dean Najam to be a Scotia Group Fellow and co-authored an award-winning policy memo for COP26. Margaret is looking forward to fostering cross-cultural communication and advancing her Spanish speaking abilities during her time as an ETA in Colombia. While there, she hopes to pursue a community project to learn from the indigenous communities of Colombia and their methods for sustainable land management.
