Hye Won’s ongoing passion for promoting literacy in multicultural classrooms motivated her to apply for a Fulbright teaching award in South Korea. She persists to create an environment where both teachers and students are able to facilitate an enriching cultural exchange through discussions about varying customs and traditions. Hye Won has spent most of her undergraduate career teaching English to bilingual children and immigrant families in Boston public schools. She hopes to continue advocating for greater educational access in under-resourced communities while simultaneously providing South Korean students a fresh outlook on U.S. culture through literature, poetry, and film.
