Travis Roy (COM'00) on October 30 became the
first BU hockey player ever to have his number
retired. The red and white banner with his number,
24, was raised to the rafters of Walter Brown Arena
before the Terriers defeated Providence, 3-2. At
left is his father, Lee. Coach Jack Parker then
showed the 3,732 spectators Roy's framed jersey
before presenting it to him. Roy, waving to the
crowd, has regained partial use of his right arm
after a paralyzing neck injury, which occurred 11
seconds into his first college game four years ago.
