Thomas Finneran (D-Mattapan), BU Chancellor and
State Board of Education Chairman John Silber, and
Senate President Thomas Birmingham (D-Chelsea),
along with other Massachusetts officials, met to
talk with representatives of the Parent-Child Home
Program, which began in Pittsfield, Mass., in 1970.
The program, which has spread to seven other
communities in the state, focuses on parents'
