On October 2, Hearst Corporation Chairman Frank
A. Bennack presented a $100,000 check to BU for the James F.
O'Donnell Scholarship, in memory of Hearst's former vice
president for corporate public relations.
Although O'Donnell was a Boston College alumnus,
his family chose BU's College of Communication because it
wanted to donate the scholarship to a leading communications
school. Pictured are (from left) O'Donnell's mother, Fran
