![]() Obituary Karen Sue Danley, SAR research associate professor in the department of rehabilitation counseling, died suddenly of a stroke at her summer cottage in Hyannis, Mass., on April 23. Danley was a founding member of the Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation, which she joined in 1981. She was the first program director for the Center's career achievement services and served from 1984 to 1994, and more recently, was director of the Center's development division, responsible for initiatives such as an interagency effort to serve the transition needs of Boston's mentally ill inner-city youth, the training of vocational rehabilitation counselors, and employment support for veterans with psychiatric disabilities. In April, the Center was awarded a Research Infrastructure Support Grant from the National Institute of Mental Health, following a submission in which Danley played a vital role. A memorial service in celebration of her life and work will be held in Marsh Chapel on Wednesday, September 16, at 3 p.m. A reception will be held at 4 p.m. at Barristers Hall in the School of Law. |
