We presented macaques with a continuous stream of images at rates up to 72 images\/s and recorded from cells in high-level visual cortex. Surprisingly, even at the highest rate (one image every 14ms), 60% of STS neurons tested retained their stimulus selectivity. At these rates, information about 7 independent stimuli are present in the visual stream, without causing total failure of processing.
