Crediting for Boston University<\/strong><\/p>\n Editorial<\/em><\/p>\n Credit for University-branded materials should read \u201c[Photographer Name]\u201d (Inclusive of alumni publications\/deans\u2019 reports, digital articles, etc.)<\/p>\n If produced by BU Photography and provided to channels outside Boston University, credit should read \u201c[Photographer Name] for Boston University Photography\u201d (Inclusive of images provided to outside media outlets, images being used by faculty, staff, or alumni for their own professional purposes, etc.)<\/p>\n Credit should identify clearly with which image it is associated: e.g., \u201cClockwise from top right: [Photographer Name]; Courtesy of [Provider Name]\u201d<\/p>\n Credit Placement<\/strong><\/p>\n For printed materials, crediting should appear on same or adjacent page as image when possible and should be clear with which image it is associated.<\/p>\n For digital materials, crediting should appear after image caption.<\/p>\n When a single photographer has contributed all images in a feature, photographer should be credited in byline of story.<\/p>\n When running a single image, or when multiple photographers have contributed images, photographers should be credited in gutter (print) or caption of image (digital).<\/p>\n Social Media Crediting<\/em><\/p>\n (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Instagram, etc.)<\/p>\n When linking directly to original story where photo attribution is given, no additional credit required.<\/p>\n When sharing images independently, photographer should be credited as above or with social media handle.
