Capitalize World Wide Web.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>For all other \u201cweb\u201d words, when used as an adjective modifying a noun, \u201cweb\u201d is lowercase but not joined or hyphenated:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"editorial-sample\">\n<li>web page appearance<\/li>\n<li>web address placement<\/li>\n<li>web design software<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>In running text, generally avoid breaking long URLs and email addresses over two lines. Whenever it is necessary to break a URL, avoid doing so in the middle of a word, and do not add a hyphen. Instead, choose a breaking point at the end of a word and place the next symbol at the beginning of the new line:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"editorial-sample\">\n<li>bu.edu\/admissions<br \/>\n\/academics\/global-opportunities\/<\/li>\n<li>bu.edu\/questrom<br \/>\n\/degree-programs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Use italics for the names of online publications:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"editorial-sample\">\n<li><em data-redactor-tag=\"em\">BU Today<\/em>; <em data-redactor-tag=\"em\">Salon.com<\/em>; <em data-redactor-tag=\"em\">Slate<\/em>; <em data-redactor-tag=\"em\">Politico<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Titled sections, pages, or special features on a website should be roman and placed in quotation marks:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"editorial-sample\">\n<li><em data-redactor-tag=\"em\">Wikipedia<\/em>\u2019s \u201cLet It Be\u201d entry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do not hyphenate email; but do hyphenate e-business, e-commerce, e-newsletter, e-book, etc. Lowercase email in running text, except when the word begins a sentence.
