As circumstances shift, this page will be updated to include up-to-the-minute information about changes to our performance schedule, COVID-19 protocols, and more.

Your mask is required at BPT performances

All people in Massachusetts are required to continue wearing face coverings in certain settings, including our theatre. To provide maximum safety for our performers, who must go maskless in our intimate spaces, we are maintaining masking and COVID vaccination requirements through the 2022-23 season. BPT’s COVID Safety measures proved to be very effective in keeping audiences and performers safe last season.

To ensure the safest possible experience for everyone, BPT strongly recommends full COVID-19 vaccination and boosters.

Clean air is healthy air

The best method to ensure a COVID-safe environment is fresh air. Our theatre’s HVAC system is using MERV 13 filters to clean the air as it circulates, and it is refreshing the space with outside air regularly. Portable HEPA filters are also providing supplemental air cleaning.

Feeling sick or have symptoms? Stay home!

BPT offers free, no hassle ticket exchanges to a date when you are feeling better (or a full refund, if that becomes necessary). Our box office is flexible and here for you—contact us for options: newplays [at] bu.edu or 617-353-5443. Let’s keep each other safe!

Mask up!

CDC-approved masks are required to enter our facility and must remain on—covering both your nose and mouth—at all times. Of course, all of our staff members will be masked for their safety and yours. Performers will not wear masks while on stage, but they will maintain a six-foot distance from all audience members.

Talk-backs

BPT has suspended our series of in-person post-show conversations. We hope you will listen to our new podcast, Typecast, which features interviews with this season’s playwrights (and more).

This is a hate-free venue

We commit to be anti-racist and inclusive, and to dismantle barriers related to (but not limited to) ethnicity, nationality, religion, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, and socioeconomic status. Our staff, artists and volunteers uphold these values and we expect you will, too. Hate will not be tolerated here.

In addition:

• Hand sanitizer is available in the lobby.
• High-touch surfaces are being disinfected before every performance.

Thank you for helping us return to live performance in a safe and joyful manner!
