Project ASSERT Celebrates 20 Years

Boston Medical Center’s Project ASSERT celebrated its 20th anniversary on December 11th, 2014. This commemorative event was attended by over 80 guests, including hospital staff and patients, community agency representatives, and government officials. Speakers included Kate Walsh, President and CEO of Boston Medical Center, Brendan Little, Project Manager for the Mayor’s Office of Jobs and Community Services, Tina Davis, Interim Director of Nursing  for the Department of Care Management, and Jon Olshaker, Chief and Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine.

Director of the White House’s Office of National Drug Control Policy Michael Botticelli sent a video of his praise for Project ASSERT as a model for treating patients with substance use disorders in the medical setting.
