The ESA, founded in 1915, is an organization of scientists dedicated to promoting ecological science, raising public awareness, and bridging communication between ecologists and policy-makers. Templer was elected as an ESA fellow in 2019, and as Vice President for Education &amp; Human Resources from 2018-2021.<\/p>\n<p>Templer&#8217;s research surrounds the impact of environmental change, including climate and atmospheric change, as well as urbanization, on the cycling of carbon and nitrogen. Templer also serves as the director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/urban\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BU URBAN<\/a> Graduate Program.
