- Area of Study Biology
Where are you from?
New York City
What is your major and why did you choose it?
My major is biology and I am on the premedical track! I chose biology because I have always been fascinated in understanding how our bodies work as well as the interactions between every organism that has helped develop the current ecosystems that we have today. Our bodies look so simple on the outside but there are so many complex processes going on inside every second. It’s absolutely incredible and I would love to dive deeper into these topics and learn more.
What is your favorite Biology course?
As of now I am really enjoying BI 203: Cell Biology. It is quite complex, but it has allowed me to understand various processes that occur in our bodies. There’s a big genetics component to this class as well which is something I am very interested in.
What extracurricular activities are you involved in?
I am on the Advocacy Board for the CAS Student Government and am the social media manager for BU Student Government. I am also an admissions ambassador and the Chair of Community Relations for the BU Blood Initiative. Furthermore, I am a member of the chemistry fraternity, Alpha Chi Sigma, and a member of the sorority, Tri Delta.
What is your favorite dining spot on or around campus?
Definitely Bay State Dining Hall! They have a wide variety of amazing foods and the dining hall itself is beautiful.
What is the best place to study or relax on campus?
Any cafe on-campus is always a fun place to both study and relax.
What is your favorite BU memory?
There’s so many but if I had to pick it would be when my roommate and I went to see the Lion King at the Boston Opera House. We both love Broadway shows and the Lion King is such a classic and the opera house was absolutely magnificent.
What’s one BU tip you wish you knew sooner?
Take some time out of your schedule to really explore Boston. The only places I’ve really visited outside of campus are Cambridge, Newbury, and the Boston Opera House. There are so many more places to go and see like Boston Commons. I wish I hadn’t spent a good majority of my time just studying.
What are your post-graduation plans?
Hopefully going to medical school!
