Barkha Shah

I’m a first generation college graduate from an immigrant household and an alumni of this department. While I have enjoyed being both a student and a staff member in biology, there is room for change. I’m here to advocate for real, substantial, and immediate change. I work closely with many graduate students and it’s my tie to them, and my experience as an undergrad here that leads me to want to create a better environment. I’m helping to develop a new graduate level class, BF/BI510 Institutional Racism in Health and Science. Anyone who might have concerns or comments is welcomed to approach me. I want to help make this department and the university a place where all feel included, respected, and valued.
