Pam Templer Featured in the Brink

Pam Templer was featured in The Brink for being named President of the Ecological Society of America (ESA). The ESA, founded in 1915, is an organization of scientists dedicated to promoting ecological science, raising public awareness, and bridging communication between ecologists and policy-makers. Templer was elected as an ESA fellow in 2019, and as Vice President for Education & Human Resources from 2018-2021.
Templer’s research surrounds the impact of environmental change, including climate and atmospheric change, as well as urbanization, on the cycling of carbon and nitrogen. Templer also serves as the director of the BU URBAN Graduate Program. As the 2027 president-elect, Templer will bring forth her ecosystem science expertise and experiences community building. “In a time when science faces mounting challenges, it is vital that we support research, training, and collaboration across sectors,” said Templer, in an announcement from the ESA.
