Primack Lab’s Biology Honors Students Present at Arnold Arboretum

This past February, two Honors in Biology students in the Primack Lab, Matteo Finnerty and Ada Fang, presented research at the Arnold Arboretum. The Harvard University Herbaria (HUH) collaborate with the Arboretum to hold a seminar series called AA Research Talks. This one was titled, “A two-year survey of insects visiting flowers of woody plants at the Arnold Arboretum.” Dr. Primack and Brandeis University professor Colleen Hitchcock supervised Matteo, Ada, and Brandeis undergraduate student Ethan Rosenfeld for the group presentation.

Matteo, pictured above, works in the Primack lab studying the woody plant preferences of honey bees and bumblebees at the Arnold Arboretum in Boston. He says “I am particularly interested in the degree of overlap in plant visitation between honey bees and bumblebees, and the extent to which they may be competing for floral resources.”

Congratulations Matteo and Ada!
