Melissa Rudy (CAS ’19), a BMB alum, and member of the Sabeti Lab at the Broad Institute has been working alongside all the members of the Sabeti group to help sequence SARS-CoV-2 genomes from virus samples linked to early cases of COVID-19 in Massachusetts. The Sabeti Lab studies the genetics of viral pathogens and put this expertise to use in studying the introduction and spread of COVID-19 in Boston and surrounding areas. A blog post from the lab describes the changes that had to be made to complete this vitally important work. We encourage you to read the entire post to learn more about this process and thank Melissa and the rest of the Sabeti Lab for their hard work during this challenging time.
