Due to the nature of these positions, it is necessary that students have prior experience performing on their instrument of choice, particularly in a band setting. If you are a new rhythm section member, follow the steps below. Returning members do not need to audition.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">To Audition for the Pep Band Rhythm Section:<\/span><\/h2>\n<h2>Step 1: Complete the Join Form<\/h2>\n<p>(REQUIRED) Complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/bands\/join\/\">Join Form<\/a> so that we can notify you throughout the summer about auditions, etc.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 2: Prepare your Audition<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Auditions are meant to be enjoyable and stress-free. We just want to hear you play! Have fun with these, and simply show us what you&#8217;ve got.<\/li>\n<li>All new students will first audition via video <em>(videos due by Mon. August 10 at 11:59 PM &#8211; see below for details).<\/em><\/li>\n<li>You may submit one video of all three tunes, or separate videos of each tune.<\/li>\n<li>Once we receive your video, we will then send you info about attending live auditions <em>(we will be in touch between August 14-28).<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Live auditions will occur on campus in the first week of September and be comprised of the same material &#8211; it&#8217;s just a chance to get to know you in person!<\/li>\n<li>Results will be announced by the end of the first week of classes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to submit your video audition:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Upload your video(s) to Youtube and email link to <strong>agold@bu.edu<\/strong> by 11:59 PM, August 10, 2026.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>You will then receive info about live auditions by August 28 <em>(live auditions will occur on campus in the first week of September).<\/em><\/li>\n<li>If you have questions, please contact us at bands@bu.edu.
