{"id":2362,"date":"2014-06-03T12:28:57","date_gmt":"2014-06-03T16:28:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/autism\/?post_type=profile&#038;p=2362"},"modified":"2019-07-31T11:34:15","modified_gmt":"2019-07-31T15:34:15","slug":"helen-tager-flusberg","status":"publish","type":"profile","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/autism\/profile\/helen-tager-flusberg\/","title":{"rendered":"Helen Tager-Flusberg"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6><em>Professor, Department of Psychological &amp; Brain Sciences, Boston University<\/em><\/h6>\n<h6><em>Professor, Department of Anatomy &amp; Neurobiology and Pediatrics, BUSM<\/em><\/h6>\n<p>As the director, I oversee all the main activities of our research programs.\u00a0 I have long-standing interests in language and social-cognitive development in a number of different populations, especially autism, Williams syndrome, and developmental language disorders.\u00a0 More recently, my research has explored the connections between brain structure and function and cognitive\/behavioral impairments in people with these disorders at different ages, from infancy through young adulthood.\u00a0 My work is supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health and private foundations.\u00a0 I have edited several books, published many articles and chapters, and serve on the editorial boards of a number of professional journals.\u00a0 I served as the President for the <em>International Society for Autism Research <\/em>\u00a0from 2011 to 2013.
