<\/a><\/a>As the center director, I oversee all the main activities of our research programs.\u00a0 I have long-standing interests in language and social-cognitive development in a number of different populations, especially autism, Williams syndrome, and developmental language disorders.\u00a0 More recently, my research has explored the connections between brain structure and function and cognitive\/behavioral impairments in people with these disorders at different ages, from infancy through young adulthood.\u00a0 My work is supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health and private foundations.\u00a0 I have edited several books, published many articles and chapters, and serve on the editorial boards of a number of professional journals.\u00a0 I served as the President for the International Society for Autism Research <\/em>\u00a0from 2011 to 2013. I regularly present my research at professional conferences, government meetings, parent advocacy groups, and training institutes both in the United States and around the world.<\/p>\n
