Panel Discussion sponsored by the BU Deaf Studies Club
from 5-7pm in Sargent 102.

  Participants included:

• Dennis Cokely. Director of the American Sign Language Program and Chair of the Department of Modern Languages at Northeastern University. Author of excellent textbooks for teaching ASL as a second language, as well as two books about interpreting. Founder and Past President of Sign Media, Inc., which produces "videotaped and text material on American Sign Language and American Deaf Culture."
• Patrick Costello. Middle School Supervisor,The Learning Center for Deaf Children, Framingham, MA.
• Carol Neidle. Professor of French and Linguistics in the Dept. of Modern Foreign Languages and Literature at BU; Director of the American Sign Language Linguistic Research Project (partially funded by the National Science Foundation). Publications include the Syntax of American Sign Language (with Judy Kegl, Dawn MacLaughlin, Benjamin Bahan, and Robert Lee.).

A rally was held right before the panel discussion: from 3-5pm at Marsh Plaza.
