Her work focuses on foreign policy, ideology, and security, with a focus on South and East Asia, particularly the rising powers, India and China. Her book,\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sup.org\/books\/title\/?id=22642\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span size=\"2\" style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Wronged by Empire: Post-Imperial Ideology and Foreign Policy in India and China<\/i><\/span><\/a><span size=\"2\" style=\"font-size: small;\">, argues that the bitter history of colonialism affects the foreign policy behavior of India and China even today. She is currently working on rising powers, and the domestic ideational frameworks that explain their changing status.
