He has translated many Japanese authors including Hiromi Kawakami, Naoya Shiga, and Haruki Murakami and is editor of <\/span><em class=\"\">The Oxford Book of Japanese Short Stories<\/em><span> and co-editor of <\/span><em class=\"\">Monkey Business International<\/em><span>, the first Japanese literary magazine available in an English version.
