font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><span class=\"gmail_default\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span class=\"gmail_default\"><strong>Abstract:<\/strong> This symposium will explore the roles of women in the three main South Asian literary cultures: the classical tradition in Sanskrit, vernacular traditions in languages such as Gujarati and Kashmiri, and\u00a0<\/span>the Indo-Muslim tradition in Persian and Urdu.<span class=\"gmail_default\">\u00a0The presentations will focus on women as both creators of poems and their representation in poetry by male poets.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #c79926;\">This symposium is co-sponsored by the <\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #c79926;\"><strong>BU Department of World Languages and Literatures, the BU Center for the Study of Asia, the\u00a0Institute for the Study of Muslim Societies &amp;
