Please read the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.asianethnology.org\/page\/policies\">information on our open access and copyright policies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span>A list of monographs that were published under the journal&#8217;s former names, Folklore Studies and Asian Folklore Studies, appear <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.asianethnology.org\/page\/afsmonographs\">here<\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Asian Ethnology\u00a0is dedicated to the promotion of scholarly research on the peoples and cultures of Asia. It began in China as\u00a0Folklore Studies\u00a0in 1942 and later moved to Japan where its name was changed to\u00a0 Asian Folklore Studies. It is edited and published at <a class=\"external-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nanzan-u.ac.jp\/English\/\">Nanzan University<\/a> in <a class=\"external-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nagoya-info.jp\/en\/\">Nagoya<\/a>, Japan, with the cooperation of <a class=\"external-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/anthrop\/\">Boston University<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Asian Ethnology\u00a0seeks to deepen understanding and further the pursuit of knowledge about the peoples and cultures of Asia. We wish to facilitate intellectual exchange between Asia and the rest of the world, and particularly welcome submissions from scholars based in Asia.
