The concert\u2019s highlights include Paul Patterson\u2019s \u2018Little Red Riding Hood Song Book\u2019 with the Boston City Singers and a performance by the NEP\u2019s 22nd Annual Young Artist Competition winner, Khoi Le, 13, who will perform the first movement of Camille Saint-Saens Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor.<\/p>\n<p>The concert will feature William Schuman\u2019s \u2018Newsreel in 5 Shots;\u2019 the world premiere of Bernard Hoffer\u2019s \u2018Nocturne: The Timber Wolf;\u2019 Andy Vores\u2019 \u2018Big Bad Wolf,\u2019 Paul Patterson\u2019s \u2018Little Red Riding Hood Song Book,\u2019 with the Boston City Singers, Joshua DeWitte, Director and narrated by WBZ-TV Meteorologist, Eric Fisher.<\/p>\n<p>NEP\u2019s 22nd Young Artist Competition winner, 13-year-old Lexington native and pianist Khoi Le, will perform will perform the first movement of Camille Saint-Saens Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor. \u201cKhoi impressed us with his very mature phrasing of the music, for his over-arching concept of the movement, and for his very clear, firm tone on the piano. He&#8217;s a very mature musician for his young age and a compelling soloist,\u201d said NEP\u2019s Music Director Richard Pittman, who presided over the competition.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the concert will feature a gift drive to benefit Cradles to Crayons and an Instrument Petting Zoo, courtesy of Johnson Strings, for the children in the audience to try out instruments after the performance. Cradles to Crayons is asking for new, unwrapped toys and clothing for children aged 0-16.
