Internships are available throughout the year.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT ORGANIZATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jos\u00e9 Mateo Ballet Theatre is a vibrant and diverse community of artists, arts educators, students, audience members, and partnering organizations working at the intersection of artistic excellence, innovation, and social change. Directed by Cuban-born founder Jos\u00e9 Mateo and incorporated as a not-for-profit in 1986, JMBT has developed from a single studio dance school into the largest minority-led performing arts organization in Greater Boston, forging a new model for a ballet organization through innovative programming, artistic excellence, and extensive community outreach.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT POSITION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>JMBT asks for a commitment of 10-20 hours per week. Interns may receive academic credit for their participation in the internship program. Active interns are eligible for complimentary tickets to performances and free adult ballet classes.<\/p>\n<p>Interns at JMBT gain a general understanding of arts management and the operations of non-profit organizations as well as the important role development plays in the success of every non-profit organization by having a hands-on role in development, fundraising, and donor cultivation initiatives.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBLITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Donor Management\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maintain donor database<\/li>\n<li>Prospective donor research<\/li>\n<li>Assist in donor cultivation efforts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Drafting and sending solicitation and thank you letters<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with giving campaigns<\/li>\n<li>Assisting with development phone calls<\/li>\n<li>On-site support for events<\/li>\n<li>Other duties as needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace<\/li>\n<li>Exceptional writing and proofreading skills<\/li>\n<li>Exceptionally well organized with the ability to multitask<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills and comfortable talking on the phone<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>TO APPLY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>Submit brief cover letter and resume to Yummi Wang, Development Associate at\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"mailto:ywang@ballettheatre.org\" title=\"\">ywang@ballettheatre.org<\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>For more internship opportunities, please click<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ballettheatre.org\/internships\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jos\u00e9 Mateo Ballet Theatre offers internships for undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in arts administration, development and fundraising, marketing, and overall nonprofit organizational management.
