Alliance for the Arts in Research Universities (a2ru) is holding a summer intensive at the University of Florida June 11 – 22, 2018. Participants will explore the facilities of digital worlds to create new digital media and learn tools and techniques for digital storytelling. <\/p>\n

DESCRIPTION:<\/strong>
\nStudents from the a2ru institutions are invited to participate in a two-week interdisciplinary
\nsummer intensive at the University of Florida Digital Worlds Institute<\/strong> June 11 \u2013 22, 2018.<\/p>\n

Participants will have the opportunity to work in collaborative groups utilizing the facilities of
\nDigital Worlds (DW) to create new digital media for showcase to both local and global
\naudiences near the end of the residency period.<\/p>\n

Technologies and facilities available at DW include wireless motion capture stage, ultra-wide
\nscreen immersive theater with 7.1 surround sound, 2D and 3D animation, support for mobile
\nand video game creation as well as interactive audio and video environments, and digitally enhanced
\nlive performance.<\/p>\n

Students with interests and backgrounds in, but not limited to, performing arts, computer and
\ngame programming, visual arts, storytelling and creative writing, animation and videography
\nare invited to apply.<\/p>\n

COSTS:<\/strong>
\nThe two-week intensive costs $995 + the cost of travel. This cost provides: food,
\nlodging, expert faculty instruction for the certificate, unlimited access to the Digital Worlds
\nInstitute\u2019s leading-edge facilities and a weekend excursion.<\/p>\n
