We are witness to extraordinary times. Our own destruction of ecological, biological, and social systems increases while resources for sustainability seem to decrease. How do we remain resilient, creative, connected, and empowered to act for ourselves and our world? How can we be leaders for others when we have our own deep feelings and concerns? “Active Hope: The Work that Reconnects” is based on deep ecology, systems theory, and Engaged Buddhism and teaches how to work through our pain for the world. We will share several interfaith practices such as: guided meditation; a ritual to grieve together; a ceremony to create empowered community; and personal reflection. We hope participants will be inspired to use these practices and create liturgies and activities for their home congregations and communities. Lunch and snacks will be provided.
