A Tour of The Towers
Tucked just a block away from the bustle of Comm Ave, The Towers, the dorm-style residence hall at 140 Bay State Road, is conveniently located next to the Questrom School of Business and the Metcalf Center for Science & Engineering. Built in 1957, the building comprises two nine-story towers—East and West—connected by a common area. Home to 521 students, the dorm features double rooms on single-gender floors, as well as specialty floors for students enrolled in Questrom, the College of Engineering, and the College of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College.
You’ll find a variety of common spaces at The Towers: an air-conditioned social area, a TV lounge, a music room, and plenty of places reserved for studying—including the basement, where a dining hall once existed.
In this video tour, roommates Sarah Kirk (ENG’25) and Sarah Rho (CAS’25) show us around The Towers, pointing out what makes the building special, including the spectacular views of the Charles River and Kenmore Square and a laundry room where you can always find a free washer and dryer. They also take viewers on a quick tour of Marciano Commons, just two minutes away on foot, which is a popular dining destination for the dorm’s residents.
