There are 2 comments on Want to Find a Banned Book? Brookline Booksmith Has Some on Display

  1. I am a gay man with kids. “Gender Queer” and “This Book is Gay” have no place in my house or the classroom because those books are pornographic and inappropriate for young children.

That does not mean they are banned, as evidenced by the fact you can buy them in Brookline or Amazon or literally anywhere. Setting some limits on age-appropriate content for children in schools is not some vast right-wing conspiracy against books. “If you object to school districts providing soft-core gay porn to 2nd graders, you’re a homophobic fascist!” is not a compelling argument. The ideologically possessed Leftists in this community are insufferable.

    1. I sincerely appreciate your take on the school book ban. My first reaction was indeed how can they do that, but I see another side of the issue now. I live in Texas and it’s hard to describe the sense of unease I feel whenever our legislature meets.
