There are 4 comments on POV: I Got COVID-19. Here’s What You Need to Know

  1. Gemma, I commend you on a truthful and personal letter. I am a faculty member excited to return to in-person instruction however I am also nervous about the possibility that we will squander the opportunity BU is providing our community and waste all of the time and resources poured into making this happen by making reckless and selfish choices. I hope your letter serves as caution for those returning that we can have some semblance of normalcy as long as we adhere to the “social contract” we are all agreeing to by opting to return to in-person instruction.

I pray for your continued recovery and good health and wish you a productive school year. Welcome to BU.

  2. Gemma…
Welcome to Boston and BU…and thank you for sharing your experience.
Your story needs to be told to better understand COVID-19. Luckily, your story has a happy ending.
If we all can take extraordinary steps now until we have a vaccine, each of us and our loved ones can live to talk about it.

  3. Thank You Gemma! You were openly honest and forthcoming. I hope your story reaches students who may have been hearing the same comments or thinking the same way before you experienced the real life situation. I hope you continue to heal and get stronger. Telling your story does help your heart heal too!
