Lone Star Taco Bar
There’s nothing quite like a Dallas Spicy Beef taco to warm you up on a cold winter night. This Allston spot may serve only seven different kinds of tacos, but each is carefully crafted to be maximally delicious. There’s house-made chorizo, beef barbacoa, baja fried fish, and even a braised tofu taco for vegetarian and vegan diners. Check out Lone Star’s shareable plates, too: they’re ideal if you’re gathering with a group of friends. We recommend the grilled street corn and Victory Club Nachos. Wash it all down with one of the many margarita options. Lone Star also has a great daily brunch menu, featuring specialties like sweet and spicy jalapeño corn cakes and breakfast tacos.
Lone Star Taco Bar, 479 Cambridge St., Allston, is open daily for dinner from 4 pm to 1:30 am. Brunch is served Monday to Friday, 11 am to 4 pm, Saturday and Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm. Take a 57 bus to the Cambridge Street at North Beacon Street stop.

The tour takes you from the heart of Copley Square to the beautiful brownstones of the historic South End neighborhood. The app-led scavenger hunt means no reservations. You go when you want to. Find out how Copley Square’s Trinity Church influenced architecture throughout the city and why the Boston Public Library’s central branch was built where it was.

Igloo Bar at the Envoy Hotel
Looking for a novel way to enjoy an adult beverage? The hip Envoy Hotel in the Seaport district has brought back its rooftop igloo bar. The seasonal pop-up bar, on the Lookout Rooftop, consists of six heated igloos where guests can enjoy a variety of specialty cocktails while taking in Boston’s picturesque skyline and harbor views. The igloos seat 8 to 10 people each and are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so arrive early if you want to snag one. To make sure you stay warm, staff provide fleece blankets to make your visit even cozier. Press a button that will illuminate your igloo to notify your cocktail server that you want to order a drink. Igloo Bar is 21+ and serves beverages only. Customers wanting food can dine at the hotel’s Outlook Kitchen & Bar.
The Igloo Bar is in the Envoy Hotel Lookout Rooftop and Bar, 70 Sleeper St., Boston, and is open Wednesday through Saturday, 4 to 11 pm. Take an MBTA Red Line train to South Station or the Silver Line to Courthouse. Dress code is contemporary casual and shoes are required.
