There are 4 comments on SPH Forum: Commonwealth Leaders, Advocates Tackle Gun Violence

  1. It’s inconceivable to me that, less than 24 hours after the Boston-based “Varsity Blues” indictments, there hasn’t been a comment from Boston University; the implications for all US institutions of higher learning — not just the few highlighted in the indictments — are huge.

    Let’s hope that changes!

  2. Just to be clear, this was a “forum” where only those on one side of the issue were invited to share their views. It seems the panelists could not agree more with one another, lacking any opposing views represented. The event was really just a gun control rally without bullhorns and chants.

  3. Before tackling gun violence this panel needs a lesson in fairness. No one from either the hunting or gun owning community was invited or included. When you use the public air waves you have obligations to represent all views. If opposition were present on the panel Blumenthal could not have gotten away with his outrageous and sickening statement about hunting humans. Sadly this is what we have come to expect from him. WBUR failed in it’s obligations to the public and owes an apology to the sporting community for the unfortunate comments that were made due to the absence of opposing views.
