There are 4 comments on Questrom School of Business Appoints One of Its Own as New Dean

  1. Focusing narrowly on brand would be a disservice to the Questrom community. Brand at any cost, or will interdisciplinary courses delve into consequences of consumerism and brand identification? Too much emphasis on branding for the elite consumer should not be a desired direction. Where are the school’s societal responsibilities going to end up?

  2. I applaud the appointment. I happened to give the graduation speech to my CBA class (it was called college of business admin back in ’72), and my focus was on the fact that many of us would end up in positions of power in business and other organizations where we could in fact direct some resources to societal issues and effect change from within the business community. There is nothing elitist about brand relationships, as they exist across the entire spectrum of society. “Branding” is just shorthand for “relationship building” with people and aspects of their lives.
My career was high tech marketing and branding, so I’m biased here. But BU biz school has not been particularly noted for its marketing, so I think this is a great new dimension at the top driving this part of the brand.

  3. Excited to see new leadership at the helm in Dean Fournier. Thanks to Dean Freeman and the job he did for the past few years running Questrom as the previous dean. The school has made a lot of strides in the past few years and is definitely headed in the right direction! Andy Bailer (PEMBA Program, 2020)
