  1. Nice article. Alas, a missed opportunity to mention all the great on-line programs at BU that also exist. The on-line MSW degree offered by the School of Social Work? The on-line MM, MA, and DMA (music) and MA in Art Education offered by the College of Fine Arts? The many online offerings and degrees through Met College? Thanks to BU’s wonderful Distance Education Programs office which helps provide the infrastructure and website development for online courses, many of these courses have won national awards for excellence. BU has a long and proud history of top-quality online offerings that long predate the 1.5 years of participation in edX, and that indeed helped demonstrate that edX was worth considering.

  2. Yes, the edX courses are great! As are the BU online courses. Unfortunately, BU STILL won’t allow matriculated employees/dependents to enroll under the tuition remission benefit.
