  1. This makes me think of the scene in the Animatrix where they darken the sky in the war against the robots to deprive them of their source of energy, the Sun. And then I think of the scene in the Matrix where Morpheus says:

“We don’t know who struck first, us or them. But we do know it was us that scorched the sky. At the time, they were dependent on solar power. It was believed they would be unable to survive without an energy source as abundant as the sun.”

Just thought it was cool that we’re actually considering something like this. Not to fight robots, but still a consequence of our own actions.

  2. The most recent estimates for global warming are 1.5 C over the next 100 years. This continues the trend of 1.5 C over the last 100 years.

The idea of Sulfuric Acid in the upper atmosphere is sound science with newly disbursed Sulfuric Acid having an effect for about 2 years.

In my opinion, a cost estimate is premature. Action of this type is unlikely to be appropriate within the next 50-100 years. Rather than predicting the operating costs of aircraft that far into the future, maybe we should be considering sulphuric coal based aircraft fuel to power the flights.
